I wish I could tell you to stay away, but that would just be WRONG! A 2 hour, all-you-can-eat experience that is worth every penny. Meat, seafood, veggies, noodles, to make your mouth water and stomach thank you. This is a fun, filling, and friendly feast!
This place is my new go-to for taking friends or family out to eat when in Nashville. The atmosphere is great so you can catch up with people while talking and eating at the same time. Some people may have a problem with cooking your own meals, but the variety of items and the price made this well worth coming to. They do not take reservations unless you are a party of 6 or more, so just know you may be waiting 20 minutes or 2 hours to eat depending on arrival times.
The food is well labeled so you know what is what on the "buffet". You've got a section dedicated to meat for the grill, a section for your soup ingredients like meatballs and seafood, as well as a section for the more unique items like squid, octopus, etc. There is also a section with sushi, which I cannot comment on because I don't eat Sushi, but it did look good. The sauce bar has a great variety, but even with labels you may not know what is what. It would be optimal to have a nice pairing suggestions of what to mix with what meats/seafoods because I honestly didn't know what some of the sauces were.
The service was really great. Our server explained everything and the proper protocol for plates, grills, etc. He explained the tastes of broths and how to do the entire meal. He came back to refill beverages and take empty plates because you do go through a lot of plates and bowls if you are enjoying yourself.
It is kind of pricey at $31 a person for the grill & hot pot and if one person does the grill, everyone must do the grill. That said, it's totally worth it between the meat and seafood alone. We will be frequenting this place fairly often when downtown!
This is a great shabu shabu place and I’m impressed with the service here! It’s a buffet place with either all you eat hotpot, bbq or both. We did both for 31.99/per adult. Our server was a very nice gentleman. I’ll definitely come back here next time I’m in Nashville.
So much food for all you can eat. Lots of options for meat and veggies. We went with a large group and service was great. Everyone can have their own hot pot flavor and stove. The kbbq option was also very fun and good Overall experience was awesome. Would come back again.
Family of 4. Great place to have hotpot near broadway. Long wait on a Thursday night (~45 minutes), but well worth it.
We couldn't get a table, so we only sat at the counter (so no grilling option). But the hotpots were great and the food are good. The honeydew smoothie was amazing! We were full and happy at the end.
The service was attentive but the restaurant was crowded even when we left 1.5 hours later. Prices are reasonable.
The food was definitely worth the wait. We went to have some friends try hot pot for the first time, would definitely recommend for first timers. The service was amazing as well, I recommend reserving or calling ahead of time for a table.
What a cool place! Order your broth and start adding food self-serve style, I like it!
I ordered their spiciest broth and it was a decently hot broth.
Be aware that the hot pot is hot, and I mean ridiculously hot while boiling. Make sure to keep some of the ingredient bowls so that you can dish out some of the soup in smaller portions to cool, because you will not be able to cool it sufficiently. Don't burn your mouth on the stuff, just portion out what you're going to eat and let it cool.
Another thing, after your food is cooked in the hotpot, make sure to turn the temperature down on the burner controls (inlaid on the side of the table) otherwise you can run the risk of burning your soup as the meal wears on.
As for making your own soup, it is best in my opinion to take some lettuce and greens and put it into the hot pot, then add your thin cut meats from the cooler, and some noodles from the conveyor belts.
The best meat for my money was the thin cut beef. SO good to put that in the soup.
Go for a cool drink. You'll need it.

This was one of our more anticipated places to eat when my bf and I were visiting Nashville. Unfortunately we came on an extremely busy night. The wait was about 30 minutes, so not too terrible. When we got inside the place was packed and it was super loud. Lots of people up and about because of the way there is the raw meat buffet. We got the hotpot only. The only problem offering the grill to people is that some people will leave bits of meat on it and let it burn leaving the area smelling like smoke. They do have exhaust fans over each table so it is not as bad as it could be. One thing that I thought was a little pricey was getting a soft drink. I got a lemonade and it was $4. Other than that, the price for ALCE hotpot is about normal. $26 per person. What really stands out about this place I feel is the conveyor belt that takes different noodles and veggies beside tables. You can simply take a bowl off and cook. It’s super nice they have the cooking times on there too. Now onto the actual food. I go the sukiyaki broth and my bf got the spicy one. They weren’t super flavorful which was disappointing considering all the extra food and what not the restaurant provided us. At other hotpot places I’ve been to they allow you to get a different broth once you’ve finished the current one but I believe this place charges you for it. They do charge you if you have any leftovers, but it’s up to you to gather how much food you can eat so just don’t get too much and you should be fine. All in all, it was a pretty neat place, but not overly exciting or anything. Also, parking was hard because it was so full that all the lots spaces were taken. We had to pay to park, it was only $5 but still.
